Sun, Feb 01

4:00 P.M. Super Bowl Party The Richmond Volleyball Club has extended an invitation to us to join their Super Bowl Party on Sunday February 1st beginning at 4pm. They will have a chili taste off (entry fee of $5 and you need to pre-register with Jon Hanners at 358-3000), football pool, tossing a football through a tire, beer pong, foosball and tug-of-war. They will have two big screen TV's and you may want to bring your own lawn chair. Admission is free. The concession stand will be selling beer, soft drinks and food. The Party will be held at the Richmond Volleyball Club - West on 1907 Westmoreland Street (from 64 take Broad Street East exit and turn left onto Westmoreland). 7:00 P.M. Ballroom Dancing Dance with the USABDA regulars until 9:30 P.M. at The Dance Space at  6004 West Broad Street St. Wear lightweight shoes that glide. $5 for USBDA members; $7 for nonmembers.

7:00 P.M. Council Meeting. To add items to the agenda leave a message on the Solo/Discovery Information Line, 257.0020. Arrive at 6:30 if you plan to eat at Aunt Sarah's Pancake House, 7927 W. Broad (between Parham and Hungary Springs).  We decided to try another location and have reserved their meeting room.

8:00 P.M. Discovery Meeting. Doors open at 7:45, Discussion begins at 8:15.  Friends Meeting House at 4500 Kensington (corner of Commonwealth).  $3 members; $4 others. (see map Color or Black&White).

8:30 P.M. Swing Dancing at 6004 W. Broad Street. Instructions 7:30 to 8:30, general dancing from 8:30 to 11:00 P.M. Admission $6; refreshments provided.

Sat, Feb 14

Late Afternoon Movie and Dinner Join us for a matinee movie at Virginia Center Stadium Movie Theater, 10091 JEB Stuart Parkway (located south of Virginia Center Commons Mall). After the movie we will head across the street for gourmet hamburgers at the Red Robin Restaurant, 10067 Brook Road. The times and movies choices will be posted by 3pm 2/13 and sent out to everyone on the Group e-mail. Contact Sara  by email or phone 342-7495  if you are interested.

8:00 P.M. P.M. Singles Mixer We received an invitation from Richmond Volleyball Club to join them for their singles mixer at 8pm at their East Club (3300 West Marshall Street). There is a $2 cover charge and food and drinks will be for sale. You can dance or play volleyball. Their contact person is Jon Hanners at 358-3000.

2:00 P.M.  Maymont Flower and Garden Show.Meet me in the lobby of the Greater Richmond Convention Center to view the spectacular displays to the theme of "Festivals in Flowers". 6:00 P.M. Spaghetti Potluck and Games Join me in my home for a spaghetti dinner, followed by an evening of games.   I'll cook the pasta and sauce. Feel free to bring your favorite board games to share.
