Seabiscuit at the The Byrd Theatre on Cary Street For anyone who has already seen “Seabiscuit” and would like to catch worthy details that might have been overlooked, here is your chance. Or, if you have not managed to see the movie, you are also welcome to join me. We will meet in lobby of the Byrd Theater. The show starts at 7:15 so try not to be late.  If you are late, please come in at the double doors immediately to the left of the concession stand. I will be sitting half way down the aisle at the center seats. Cost is $1.99

Holiday Party Join fellow soloers (and we have invited 3 other singles groups) to celebrate the Holiday Season.  Dress in your Holiday Finery and dance to Tunes spun by our own DJ Bob Massengill.  Refreshments will be served.  Beer and wine will be for sale.  Southampton Recreation Center at 3201 Chellowe Road. Please note that they have a strict no smoking policy.  This is a neighborhood Recreation Center located NE of the intersection of Forest Hill and Chippenham Parkway (150).  Admission $3 for Solo members and $6 for non-members. (see map Color or Black&White) (Print Flier)

CiCi's in Merchant Walk Shopping Center Take a break from Christmas shopping and join me and members from SD/Phoenix for an all-you-can eat pizza/pasta/salad/dessert and drink dinner for under $6.00 at CiCi's in Merchant Walk Shopping Center, 1 mile East of Parham on Broad St.  RSVP by 5 P.M. on Tuesday, 12/16, by email or phone 285-1970, so I know you'll be there.

6:00 P.M. Dinner and Garden Fest of LightsThere will be no Discovery tonight.  Instead we decided on an event that would to get us in the Holiday Spirit. The Garden fest of Lights is an amazingly creative display of lights throughout the Garden (and in the new Conservatory).  We will walk through the Garden rain or snow so dress according to the weather.  Join us first for dinner at Garden Cafe' in the Visitors Center of the Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens at 6pm.  We will meet in the lobby of the Visitors Center at 7pm for our tour.  1800 Lakeside Avenue at Hilliard.  Tickets are $5 for LGBG members or $9 for others ($8 for seniors).  I can purchase your ticket at the member price if you give me the $5 no later than Dec. 13.  RSVP by calling Sara at 342-7495 or email early.;

4:30 P.M. Dinner Service & Tacky Light Tour Lets bring in the Holiday with an early dinner at Outback Steakhouse then a Christmas Eve Service, then we will tour the west end for the looking for the most spectacular displays of lights.  Call Sara at 342-7495 by Tuesday the 23rd before 8pm or email her by Monday to finalize locations and determine drivers.

6:15 P.M. Dinner and a Movie Say Goodbye to 2003 with one final dinner and a movie. We will meet for dinner Red Robin (10067 Brook Road) at 6:15 (See map).  Next a movie around 8pm at Virginia Center Stadium Movie Theater (See Movies and times).  After that we will retreat to Katrinka's house at 3403 Brockwood Court, Apartment G (Sundance station Apartment Complex on Broad)  to bring in the New Years.   Call Sara at 342-7495  or Katrinka 747-5545 by 4pm on Wed Dec 31st  for any details.
